On 30^th ～31^thof Oct., 2006, Secretary General of Controlled Atmosphere and Fumigation (CAF) Permanent Committee, Vice Chair of CAF 2008 Organizing Committee, Visiting professor of Chengdu Grain Storage Research Institute (CSR)—Dr. Shlomo Navarro was invited to visit CSR.

On 30^th of Oct., the Organizing Committee of 8^th International Conference on Controlled Atmosphere and Fumigation in Stored Products (CAF2008) convened a workshop on preparation work development on the 9^th floor assembly room in CSR,. The workshop was took charge by Director of CSR—Prof. Guo Daolin.

After listening to the report about CAF 2008 preparation work ,which contents including the composing of CAF 2008 Leading Group, Organizing Committee and CAF 2008 Secretariat, conference theme, tentative plenary sessions, conference logo and fund resources, website construction, conference circular’s main content and distribution channels, conference location, conference progress, registration fees, trade exhibition fees, compilation and publishing of conference proceedings, distribution dates of first, second and third circular and invitation letter, call for paper abstracts and deadline of conference paper and the construction of website etc. Dr. Shlomo Navarro highly appraised conference preparation work and web site, he also represented CAF Permanent Committee thanked CSR for all of its efforts. And he recommended some good suggestions accordingly which were discussed during workshop.

On the morning 31th of Oct., Dr. Shlomo Navarro gave a lecture about “Global trends to the use of gaseous treatment in stored products”, which introduced the advanced research progress on the Controlled Atmosphere and Fumigation in Stored Products.
