We understand that some people are afraid of the effect of earthquake on Chengdu . In fact, this earthquake brings Sichuan province big disasters. As a citizen in Chengdu city, here I want to explain that some areas locating in mountains area where is a little far away Chengdu city had been damaged seriously. Fortunately, Chengdu city keep well and all buildings are safe. Now our government and people are struggling for overcome this disaster and make efforts in rebuilding work. Now we are in Chengdu city and keep normal routine of work and living. All works about CAF2008 preparation processed well.
Today, conference secretariat had gone to Foreign Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government to know about some authority information. After consultation, CAF2008 can be organized according to the original program include the date and the venue.
In addition, under strong supervise of government, many pre-fabricated houses will been set in disaster areas as a kind of temporary dwelling. All victims will be arranged in these houses before 10 August.
After over 3 months, many things will recover and keep good arrangement.
W hope that all participants do not worry about Chengdu city and give confidence and spirit support to people in earthquake areas.
