According to the decision in the 3rd CAF2008 Organizing Committee, a part of subsidies will be offered to a few of delegates coming from Low-Income Food-Deficit Countries (LIFDC). The detailed proposal is as follows.
The subsidy will be offered to the delegates who coming from LIFDC, submitting papers and getting approval of Organizing Committee.
Subsidizing items and quota of people:
◆ International air tickets (economical class): 3 applicants
◆ Free of registration fee: 3 applicants
◆ Accommodation and meals during conference: 3 applicants

◆ Brief introduction of your organization
◆ Copy of passport
Note: If possible, please show the recommended letter of CAF Permanent Committee or Session Chairs.
The procedure of application and granting
Download Application Form in www.caf2008.com. Please read the Application Specification firstly, and then fill out the form and send it to CAF2008 Conference Secretariat by email of caf20088th@yahoo.com.cn . You are requested to print the completed form and sign in it.
Your application form sent by email will be evaluated by Conference Secretariat firstly. If your application had passed the primary evaluation, you will be informed to submit printed Application Form with your signature and Requested Materials by mail.
- Final evaluation and approval
Conference Secretariat will check your mailed application materials and review your submitted paper at the same time, then report the result to Organizing Committee for approval. The Confirmation Letter of Subsidization will be sent with the Invitation Letter together in June 20, 2008.
Note: Applicants are requested to submit conference papers as soon as possible, preferably before May 20, 2008 so that Conference Secretariat has enough time to review you paper.
Guidelines to enjoy the approved support
◆ The applicants who got approval of subsidy for air tickets are requested to pay your international travel by yourself firstly. In registration desk, please provide your Confirmation letter of Conference Secretariat and air tickets to apply for reimbursement by USD or RMB.
◆ The applicants who got approval of subsidy for accommodation and meal can enjoy accommodation in 3 star hotel and meal during conference.
◆ The applicants who got approval of subsidy for wiping off registration fee can enjoy registration free.
Application Specification
a) The subsidy proposal mainly focuses on LIFDC classified by FAO.
b) The capital of support proposal is limited. Applicants should evaluate their own finance ability objectively and then decide whether it’s necessary to apply support.
c) Applicants are requested to fill out the form in English as detailed as possible.
d) The subsidies includes three items ( international air tickets, registration fee, accommodation and meal). Every applicant can apply one of them only.
e) Subsidy for international air tickets will only cover round-trip flight between applicant’s country and Chengdu city, without any other travel cost. Applicants are recommended to try their best to know about the economical flight and its price(RMB) and then fill out the form carefully.
f) The applicants who got approval of wiping off registration fee will have same right to be offered conference proceedings, tea break and lunches in conference, welcome dinner and field trip.
g) The applicants gained approval of accommodation and meal support will enjoy accommodation in 3 star hotel and meals. The meals will be arranged with local delegates together. |
